Dickon qualified from Bristol University in 1985. He initially worked at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, before moving into general practice. He has worked at a number of practices in Sussex as well as owning one in Cuckfield for a number of years.

Dickon provides an excellent service – both in terms of the quality of his dentistry and his gentle, compassionate approach. He has undertaken extensive postgraduate training to further extend and refine his skills, giving him a very comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all areas of dentistry. He has a particular interest in root canal work and has been taking referrals from other dentists for over a decade.

Dickon is constantly finding ways to improve by implementing new techniques and materials. However, he believes the most important ingredient to being a first class professional is simply really caring about the person you are treating, being committed to giving them the best possible aesthetic and functional outcome, and making their visits as comfortable and relaxed as you can.

Dickon is married with two daughters. He is a member of the Hurstpierpoint Evangelical church. He enjoys water sports and outdoor pursuits, which he previously taught and led school expeditions on. He has in the past been very involved with Sussex Netball, his wife’s passion, and has umpired nationally at Super League and International level, one of only a small number of men ever to hold this position in England. In this role, he travelled to Malaysia and Australia. He currently umpires in the National League.

Henry graduated from Sheffield University in 2007. He then completed further training, including the MJDF RCS and a diploma in restorative dentistry, and is an Invisalign Platinum provider. Henry has been part of the team since 2013, and took over as co-owner of Burgess Hill Dental with Dickon in 2021. Since then, it has been a real joy to help develop the practice into what it is today.

Outside of running the business, Henry’s main interests are in cosmetic dentistry. He was an early adopter of the Invisalign clear aligner system and has now treated over 200 cases. He has extensive training in the advanced techniques used for composite bonding and he enjoys combining both Invisalign and composite bonding to produce natural but aesthetic smile makeovers.

Henry is an associate member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and regularly attends events and lectures to keep up to date with the latest developments in cosmetic dentistry. He has attended numerous courses on both composite bonding and Invisalign, including the Mini Smile Makeover course and the Art of Resin course, both internationally recognised as some of the best and most advanced composite courses around.

Outside of work, Henry enjoys running, keeping fit and paddleboarding. He also plays the guitar (badly!).

Sally Campbell Associate Dentist Read bio

Sally Campbell

Sally graduated with a BDS with distinction in Orthodontics and Paediatrics from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, University of London, in 1998. She achieved the MFDS (part a) in 2000, and is a certified Bioclear practitioner. Sally joined Burgess Hill Dental in 2008.

Sally enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and is extremely dedicated to providing a high standard of clinical dentistry in a friendly and professional environment. She takes pride in helping her patients keep their mouths healthy with regular care and personalised advice. Sally also loves helping nervous patients gain confidence in visiting the dentist, building their trust with her empathetic and gentle approach.

Outside of work, Sally loves to travel and explore different countries. She enjoys skiing in winter but can mostly be found spending her time racing around after her three children!

Daisy Hoad Associate Dentist Read bio

Daisy Hoad

Daisy grew up in the New Forest and graduated with a BDS from the University of Manchester in 2017. She is committed to continuous professional development, and furthered her dental expertise by achieving a postgraduate certificate in Primary Dental Care from the University of Kent.

Daisy has a wealth of experience, gained from practising dentistry in various locations across Sussex. She is dedicated to delivering high-quality aesthetic dentistry, and her commitment to excellence is evident in her further studies. Daisy completed a comprehensive one-year course on advanced cosmetic treatment under the renowned Chris Orr, and consistently updates her knowledge in all facets of dentistry.

An accredited Invisalign Go provider, Daisy integrates this innovative orthodontic solution into her dental treatment plans to achieve the best results. She takes pride in helping children and patients with dental anxiety feel at ease when visiting the dentist, and loves forming lasting relationships with her patients based on trust and open communication.

Outside of work, Daisy is an avid netball player and the founder of a women’s pop choir in Brighton. Her multifaceted interests and commitment to both personal and professional growth can be seen in her approach to dentistry and patient care.

Beth Wattam Dental Hygienist Read bio

Beth Wattam

Beth qualified as a dental hygienist from Cardiff University in 2019. She moved back to Sussex at the end of 2020, and went on to join Burgess Hill Dental in 2022.

Beth enjoys helping patients with dental anxieties overcome their fears and feel more confident with dental treatments and in the practice environment. She is passionate about building strong trusting relationships with her patients. Beth also loves educating her patients on the holistic side of oral health and the systemic effects this has on the body.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys painting, cooking and hiking. She can also often be found working on her allotment!

Lucy Neshan Dental Hygienist & Therapist Read bio

Lucy Neshan

Once she completed her A-levels, Lucy decided to undertake dental nurse training at Birmingham Dental Hospital. Working at the hospital allowed her to gain experience in every department and gain a good grounding in all aspects of dentistry. Lucy decided she wanted to be more hands-on by treating patients.

Lucy qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist from the University of Sheffield in 2013 and then went on to complete a vocational training year in Birmingham, where she received a certificate of excellence. Lucy is dedicated to helping patients improve their oral hygiene, tailoring her advice and gentle treatment to the needs and tolerances of each patient she meets.

As a dental therapist, Lucy is also able to provide fillings on adults and children as well as extractions on primary teeth. She attends courses and lectures on a regular basis to keep up to date with the latest advances.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves going on long walks with her lovely Labrador, Jess! She is also a big fan of dance and theatre.

Louisa Sutton Dental Hygienist Read bio

Louisa Sutton

Louisa qualified as a Dental Hygienist & Therapist at Teesside University with a first class honours degree and was awarded Best Overall Student in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.

Her philosophy as a dental hygienist is to provide patients with tailored treatment and advice, enabling patients to achieve effective oral hygiene routines at home and maintain optimum oral health. She is experienced in caring for patients who have complex gum conditions.

Louisa grew up and went to school in Sussex. In her spare time she is a keen horse rider, county hockey player, and loves to bake.

Natalie Read Dental Hygienist Read bio

Natalie Read

Dental Hygienist

Natalie’s passion for dentistry started when she became a dental nurse in 2013. She then went on to qualify as a dental hygienist at Eastman Dental Hospital, London, in 2018.

Natalie is particularly enthusiastic about teaching her patients different techniques to improve their oral health. She particularly loves treating nervous patients, helping them overcome their fears with her kind and gentle approach. Natalie finds it exceptionally rewarding when a patient who is very nervous about their visit says it wasn’t that bad after all!

Outside of dentistry, Natalie loves baking, cooking and going out to try new restaurants. She also enjoys reading.

Pauline Mitchell

Pauline achieved her NEBDN diploma in 1998 and also holds the Infection Control Lead Level 3 qualification. She joined the team at Burgess Hill Dental in her joint role of dental nurse and assistant practice manager in April 2022.

Pauline loves helping patients get their healthy and confident smiles back, and relieving their dental pain. She enjoys getting to know patients and relishes her role in the practice.

Outside of work, Pauline enjoys walking, cooking and participating in various courses.

Joanne Pearse Senior Dental Nurse Read bio

Joanne Pearse

Joanne has lived in Burgess Hill for most of her life. She completed the dental nursing course at Worthing College from 1983 – 1986 and gained the National Certificate for Dental Surgery Assistants in 1986. Joanne is always keen to further her skills, and also holds a national certificate in conscious sedation as well as a qualification in impression taking. Joanne joined Burgess Hill Dental in June 2002.

Joanne has formed strong and lasting relationships with the patients since she began working at the practice. She loves seeing the joy in the patients’ faces when they see the transformation in their teeth after having cosmetic treatment.

Outside of work, Joanne enjoys walking her Cavapoo, Ruby. She also loves visiting historical places and has been researching her family tree for over 20 years! She is also studying for a diploma in the history of the British monarchy.

Sarah Bryant Dental Nurse / Oral Health Educator Read bio

Sarah Bryant

Sarah has been a dental nurse for over 20 years, with experience in general dentistry, orthodontics, implants, oral surgery, and general anaesthetics and sedation. She joined Burgess Hill Dental in 2008.

Sarah is very good at putting people at ease and helping them feel confident and comfortable about their dental treatment. She loves caring for patients and helping them understand that their oral health is important, motivating them to find the best techniques, routines and tools to look after their gums and teeth. Sarah also enjoys working with such a great team.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys socialising and making plans for her time off. She loves Star Wars, Harry Potter and crime dramas.

Lucy Long Dental Nurse / Oral Health Educator Read bio

Lucy joined us in January 2012 as a trainee dental nurse, and gained her National Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2013. She quickly became an invaluable and popular member of our team, and went on to achieve her NEBDN Oral Health Educator qualification in September 2023.

Lucy really enjoys dental nursing and getting to know the patients. She loves that every day at work is different and varied, involving thinking on her feet and not knowing what is to come each day. Lucy also loves working in such a great team.

Away from work, Lucy loves watching a variety of things on TV, especially the murder, crime and horror genres! She enjoys muddy dog walks and weekends away with her family, hanging out with friends, escape games and quizzes (but doesn’t think she’s very good at those!). Lucy also loves learning new skills, using YouTube to help her with things including sewing, tiling and upholstery. Lucy and her daughter recently discovered magnet fishing, which they enjoy together occasionally.

Philippa joined us as a trainee dental nurse in 2020, and became a fully qualified and registered dental nurse in 2022 after completing her National Diploma in Dental Nursing.

Philippa loves being part of such a friendly and motivating team, who all work together to ensure every patient has the best experience possible in their care.

Outside of work, Philippa is a keen runner and completed the 2021 Brighton marathon, having also completed the virtual event in 2020.

Deby gained her Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 with City and Guilds in 2021. She joined the team at Burgess Hill Dental in 2023.

Deby loves seeing how happy the patients are after their appointments, especially if they have had cosmetic dentistry to transform their smiles. She also enjoys working with such a lovely team.

Outside of work, Deby plays the piano and can often be found socialising with her friends at the weekend. She also loves going on dog walks and exercising.

Marissa is currently training to become a dental nurse and has been with the practice since the end of 2023. Marissa is excited that she is nearly finished with her studies and should qualify around June 2024. Her favourite part of her job is working within the team and helping patients on a daily basis. She loves the variety that dentistry offers.

Outside of work, Marissa has a beautiful daughter called Lilly. She keeps her busy with walks and trips to the park. She also enjoys socialising with her friends and family. She enjoys travelling and exploring different countries and is also a keen skier.

Practice Manager

Kate joined Burgess Hill Dental in 2017 as a receptionist, and became our Practice Manager in February 2022.

Kate loves working with such a professional, hard-working and supportive team and is very proud of the friendly, caring and patient-focused ethos they have created at Burgess Hill. She enjoys her role as practice manager and truly loves policies and spreadsheets!

Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends and going on dog walks. She loves anything music, dance and theatre and is especially passionate about the local community group Wings Youth Theatre, which she co-founded and helps run.

Diana has worked at Burgess Hill Dental since 2008 and is a friendly and welcoming face for our patients when they first arrive at our practice. Di is always cheerful and ready to help. She is a real people person and loves getting to know the patients.

Outside of work, Diana loves music, walking, theatre, movies and animals. She is also interested in interior design and Victorian, Georgian and Art Deco architecture.

Maria joined our reception team at Burgess Hill Dental in February 2022. She loves welcoming the patients to our practice with a friendly smile and helping them feel at ease. Maria enjoys the variety of her role, as no two days are ever the same!

Maria is an animal lover and owns a cat and dog. Away from work, she enjoys binge watching TV dramas and loves archery in good weather.
